Professional services: market rents & rental valuations (including joint appointments), arbitration, compensation claims (calculating losses and damages), expert witness for tenancy disputes (to Supreme Court), reviews of rental valuations, due diligence for acquisitions, outgoings -, business & centre performance analysis and benchmarking. Lease consultancy: all aspects of lease negotiation, structuring leases, reducing personal risk, market rental value etc. Referral to Legal Counsel: as appropriate clients can be referred to a barrister-at-law with experience in commercial, retail, and lease dispute resolution who will provide a free initial telephone consultation. Agent for LIS: QLC is an agent for LIS (Lease Information Services) for rental data, and some centre performance data for most major centres and some strip shops in Queensland for feasibility studies/lease renewals/rent reviews.

  • Specialised for the last 15 years in retail tenancy and business consulting;
  • A B Econ/B Com degree majoring in economics, commercial law and marketing with valuation, arbitration and expert determination qualifications;
  • A Specialist Retail Valuer and Graded Arbitrator;
  • Four published articles on valuation and rental valuations, with one paper “Settling rental (and other lease) disputes by Expert Determination” being awarded “Best Research Paper” in Beijing in 2007;
  • Presented papers at 2006 World Valuation Congress in Singapore, 2007 World Valuation Congress in Beijing, the 2008 Pan Pacific Valuation Congress in Seoul, and at National and Queensland events;
  • Excellent knowledge on contract law, market rents, structuring leases, negotiating fair and equitable contracts;
  • Excellent knowledge on the fast moving consumer goods/supermarket industry.
